The Virgin Racing team hopes to see its car back out on-track by mid-morning at the Circuit de Catalunya. The outfit formerly known as Manor GP suffered a setback on Thursday when Lucas di Grassi crashed at the high-speed Campsa corner.

Rossi to test for Ferrari next week

Multiple MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi will test again for the Ferrari Formula 1 team next week. Having first sampled a car of the Maranello squad in 2006 before repeating the feat two years later, the Italian Yamaha rider will be handed this year’s opportunity at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya late next month.

Briatore happy with court ruling

Flavio Briatore was unsurprisingly extremely pleased with the French ruling on Tuesday. The Italian’s life time ban from Formula 1 was overturned in a Paris court and he was awarded 15,000 euros in compensation.

Timo Glock is prepared to collect more points this weekend, after a strong start to the season has seen the German finish in the top eight of every race so far. A fourth place in Australia was bettered by third in Malaysia for the German, who took another two points home from China last weekend.

Seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher has explained how he is ‘astonished’ at the various rule changes to Formula 1 starting with the next two seasons, and is shocked that the governing body made several moderations less than two weeks before the start of the new season.
