Lotus running modified rear wing

The rear wings of the Lotus cars had sprouted changed rear wings when making appearances on-track in Bahrain on Friday. The T127 chassis of Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen are competing with an added element in the centre section of the wing’s main plane.

Renault: McLaren rear wing is illegal

The Renault team is not pleased with the FIA’s decision to confirm McLaren’s rear wing assembly as legal in Bahrain. The MP4-25 cars of Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, containing an air vent which can be opened and shut by the drivers, successfully passed scrutineering on Thursday.

Formula 1 commercial rights holder Bernie Ecclestone has revealed that the sport recently came close to seeing a return to the calendar of South Africa. The Kyalami circuit last hosted a World Championship race for the country in 1993.

‘I have seven main rivals’ - Schumacher

Mercedes Grand Prix driver Michael Schumacher believes that he will have to keep a close eye on no less than seven other drivers this season to have a chance of clinching the Formula 1 world title for the eighth time. The German believes his main rivals are Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull’s drivers plus team-mate Nico Rosberg.
